In the following we inform you about the processing of personal data when using our website. Personal data is all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behavior.

Section 2 Collection of personal data when visiting our website

(1) In case of purely informational use of the website, i.e. if you do not send us any information via e-mail or through the contact form, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you visit our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security. Legal basis is Article 6 section 1 sub f GDPR and § 25 para. 2 German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG):

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (which page is requested)
  • Access Status/HTTP Status Code
  • Amount of data transferred in each exchange between our website and your browser
  • Website that you visited immediately before visiting our website
  • Browser
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of the browser software

The IP adressses in the server logs are anonymized or erased after 14 days.

Based on this data (server logs), statistics using Webaliser are also being generated. We use the statistics data to rate how our website is visited and what content our visitors are most interested in. This allows us to provide you with more relevant information and, if necessary, to adapt our website to your needs. Webaliser evaluates log files that our web server creates based on visitor requests.

(2) We use external service providers to process your data. These service providers have been carefully selected and commissioned by us, are bound by our instructions and are regularly checked.

(3) When you contact us by e-mail or via our contact form, the data you provide (e.g. your e-mail address, your name, your telephone number) are processed by us in order to answer your questions. We will delete this data after processing is no longer necessary or restrict processing if legal retention periods apply. We process the sent data according to Art. 6 Para. 1 sub f GDPR (processing of requests). If you commission us by e-mail or if we conclude a contract in this way, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sub b GDPR.

(4) Download of our whitepaper

You are also welcome to download our whitepapers on current data protection topics. In this case, please provide your contact details (name, email) in the query form provided so that we can get back to you and assist with further questions on this topic. Tracking does not take place.

The legal basis for data processing is your consent, Art. 6 para. 1 a GDPR.

Your contact data and any e-mail sent will be stored for as long as we need them to process your request.

(5) Google Fonts

We use the external fonts provided by Google Fonts. When you visit our website, the required fonts are loaded into your browser cache in order to correctly display the texts and fonts on our website.

Since we have installed Google Fonts locally on the TERCENUM server, no personal data is passed on to Google or other third parties.

The legal basis for this is § 25 Para. 2 TDDDG (technical functioning of our website).

Section 3 Applicant Data

(1) We offer you the opportunity to apply for a job at our company. In the following, we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing and use of your data will be carried out in accordance with the principles of the GDPR and all other legal provisions as well as that your data will be treated as strictly confidential.

If you apply for a position at our company, we require some information about you for this purpose. The following application data will be collected and processed:

  • Salutation
  • Last name, first name
  • E-mail address
  • Your address
  • Telephone/mobile number
  • Birth data
  • Upload attachments for application documents (e.g. cover letter, CV, references)

As part of the selection process, incoming applications will be viewed, if necessary will ask you further questions, invitations to interviews will be sent and further personal data is collected in interviews as part of the selection process in order to make a decision.

The legal basis for the processing of this data is Article 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). The purpose of collecting and processing your data is the handling of the application procedure.

(2) Further data is voluntary and not required for an application. If applicants nevertheless provide further information, this is assumed to give consent for such processing (Art. 6 para. 1 sub a GDPR or, if applicable, Art. 9 para. 2 sub a GDPR).

(3) The erasure of the provided data takes place after the end of the application process. If no employment relationship is established following the application process, the application documents will be erased six months after notification of the rejection decision. If an employment contract is signed as a result of your application, your data will be stored and used in compliance with the relevant legal provisions.

Section 4 Your Rights

(1) You have the following rights regarding the personal data concerning you:

  • Right to access according to Art. 15 GDPR,
  • Right to rectification or erasure according to Art. 16 and Art. 17 GDPR,
  • Right to restriction of processing according to Art. 18 GDPR,
  • Right to object to processing according to Art. 21 GDPR,
  • Right to data portability according to Art. 20 GDPR.

(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us, in particular to the data protection supervisory authority of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

Section 5 Objection to or withdrawal of consent to the processing of your data

(1) If you have given consent to the processing of your data, you may withdraw this consent at any time. Such withdrawal will affect the permissibility of processing your personal data after you have expressed it to us.

(2) Insofar the processing of your personal data is based on legitimate interest, you can object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is not necessary, in particular, for the performance of a contract with you, which is explained in the following description of the functions. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we perform. In the event of your justified objection, we will review the situation and either discontinue (or adjust) the data processing or provide you with our compelling legitimate grounds on the basis of which we will continue the processing.
